Wallet creation and backup

Step What to do Why it matters
1. Create wallet Choose Create New Wallet in the browser, browser extension, desktop or smartphone wallet. This initializes the wallet locally for your device.
2. Set password Choose a password for normal access on the device. The password is used for daily unlock, but it is not a replacement for the recovery seed.
3. Write down recovery seed Store the 12 or 24 recovery words exactly as shown. Without the recovery seed, restoring the wallet on a new device may no longer be possible.
4. Keep seed offline Do not treat the seed as disposable text or only as a screenshot on the same device. The recovery seed is the actual fallback path if the device is lost or reset.
